Dear School District Community,
It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we write to inform you of the tragic passing of Joseph Arensmeyer, a 2025 graduate of our high school, who lost his life in a car accident this past weekend.
Joseph was a fine young man, a dedicated classmate, and a valued member of our wrestling team. Always polite and deeply respected by his peers and teachers alike, he was a quiet leader within our student body. He is remembered fondly for his kindness, his strong work ethic, and the unwavering support he showed his fellow teammates.
The loss of Joseph will be deeply felt by our schools and our entire community. During this difficult time, our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences go out to Joseph's family and friends.
We know that this news will be difficult for many students, staff, and community members to process. Counselors and support staff will be available at Harlem High School for anyone who may need a safe space to talk, grieve, or seek support as we navigate this painful loss together.
Let us keep Josephs family in our thoughts and honor his memory by supporting one another through this challenging time.
Sincerely,
John McGee, Superintendent
